Illinois Legal Aid Online’s LiveHelp Operator Training
Thursday, October 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in 903 Lewis
LiveHelp is an online chat service available on the public, legal-information website, www.IllinoisLegalAid.org. The goal of LiveHelp is to expand Illinois Legal Aid Online’s services and increase the ability of www.IllinoisLegalAid.org visitors to get legal information and assistance if they cannot find or afford a lawyer. LiveHelp was launched in 2009 and is currently assisting over 70 website visitors per day. After the training, volunteers will staff this innovative chat service and will provide direct, person-to-person, online help so that people in need of legal assistance can obtain more positive outcomes to their legal problems. PBCSI’s October Donate-A-Day Senior Center Initiative with the Center for Disability & Elder Law
Friday, October 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30-5:00 p.m. at Britton Bud Apartments, 501 West Surf Street, Chicago, IL 60657
Join alumni and fellow law students for a day of pro bono work at the Britton Bud Apartments, 501 West Surf Street, Chicago, IL 60657. Law students and alumni will work in teams to prepare advanced directives, such as living wills and powers of attorney, for low-income seniors. NO estate planning experience is necessary. The Center for Disability Law will provide the training on site from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. The Senior Center Initiative Workshop with seniors will start at 1:00 p.m. Lunch provided.
