Alliance for Women Speakers Bureau Launch - December 6
Please join the Alliance for the launch of our Mentoring Circles' Speakers Bureau on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 12:15 p.m., at Sidley Austin, One South Dearborn. The Hon. Susan E. Cox, U.S. Magistrate Judge, and her law clerk, Mary Curry, will moderate a conversation with several distinguished Speakers Bureau members who will share their knowledge and expertise from private practice, corporate counsel, and public service. The Speakers Bureau was created to complement the Mentoring Circles program by providing senior-level attorneys to discuss various issues with Circle members. Come meet our Speakers Bureau members and hear how they will benefit your Circle! If you haven't joined a Circle yet, learn about the program and how to participate. 2011 Supreme Court of Illinois Reception and Dinner - December 9
The CBA and the Illinois State Bar Association will honor the Justices of the Illinois Supreme Court at the 2011 Supreme Court of Illinois Reception and Dinner on Friday, December 9, 2011. The event will feature a 6:00 p.m. reception, followed by a 7:00 p.m. dinner at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, 301 E. North Water Street, Chicago. The Hon. Mary Jane Theis from the First District will be the featured speaker at this year's event. Black tie optional. $125 per person. YLS Lunch with a Judge - December 13
You're invited to have lunch with the Hon. Terrence J. Lavin, Illinois Appellate Court, on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, from 12:15-1:30 p.m., at the CBA. The Judge will speak on "How to Separate Yourself from the Herd" to help young lawyers find ways to make themselves appear unique and not "fungible" in a crowded legal marketplace. Alliance for Women Holiday Party - December 15
Please join the Alliance for Women as we enjoy some holiday cheer! Our annual holiday party will take place on Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the CBA. The Alliance will be continuing its tradition of collecting small-denomination gift cards (to grocery stores, pharmacies, etc.) to donate to a local shelter for survivors of domestic violence. Gift card donations will be accepted at the holiday party.
