Wednesday, April 4, 11:30 a.m: Skadden Fellowship Presentation at University of Chicago. Law Career Services is renting a van to take everyone down to hear from Susan Butler Plum, the Foundation's Executive Director. She'll give it to you straight and she'll be a key ally and sounding board if you pursue this opportunity. Lunch will be served so RSVPs in Symplicity are required by Thursday, March 29.
The Skadden Fellowship Program was established in 1988 in recognition of the dire need for greater funding for graduating law students who wish to devote their professional lives to providing legal services to the poor (including the working poor), the elderly, the homeless and the disabled, as well as those deprived of their civil or human rights. The aim of the foundation is to give Fellows the freedom to pursue public interest work; thus, the Fellows create their own projects at public interest organizations with at least two lawyers on staff before they apply.
We will leave DePaul at 11:30am to travel to U of C Law for the 12:15pm-1:15pm presentation and leave at the conclusion to return to DePaul.
