Top public interest employers travel to D.C. every year to recruit the nations finest at the Equal Justice Works Conference & Career Fair, and it's an opportunity not to be missed. Policy organizations, congressional services, the country's best public defender offices, and many more network with students at table talk and lectures, as well as interview selected students for summer internships and full-time postgraduate positions. To kick things off, the Public Interest Law Association (PILA) partnered with the Office of Alumni Relations to host a networking reception with DePaul alums in D.C. The Alumni networking reception will take place Thursday evening, October 25th, in D.C., and the conference begins the next morning. PILA, in coordination with Law Career Services (LCS) and the Center for Public Interest Law (CPIL), will provide application/interview support, travel coordination, and reimbursement for flight and lodging.
LCS and CPIL are sponsoring a Drop-in Q& Advising Session about EJW on Wednesday Sept. 5th from 4:30-5:30 in their offices on the third floor. For more information about the conference, or advising about the EJW application/interview process please contact Alisa Rosales (arosale3 [at] depaul.edu) in Law Career Services or Shaye Loughlin (sloughli [at] depaul.edu) in the Center for Public Interest Law.
To receive reimbursement for your travel expenses, RSVP to pila.depaul [at] gmail.com. Please indicate what flight you booked, whether or not you'll require hotel accommodations, with whom you're sharing a room, or if you would like PILA to match you with other students staying in the hotel in order to share rooms. Please also indicate if you plan to leave Saturday or Sunday. This is a list of employers attending this year's event, and click here to register. Registration closes at 6pm EST on Thursday, September 13. Flights are currently $220 from O’Hare (ORD) to D.C. (DCA). We recommend booking the United flight 612 that leaves ORD at 12:05. There are many options for return flights if you choose that departure. Click here to see PILA's recommended flight option.
