Baker Donelson Diversity Scholarship Applications Due June 22nd

 Baker Donelson is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where the individual differences among us are understood, respected, appreciated and recognized as sources of strength of the Firm. These qualities enrich the environment in which we work. With this in mind, Baker Donelson will again award three scholarships to diverse law students who will complete their first year of law school by June 2012. Recipients will be awarded a six-week, salaried 2L Summer Associate position for the summer of 2013 in one of our following offices: Birmingham, AL; Orlando, FL; Atlanta, GA; Baton Rouge and New Orleans, LA; Jackson, MS; Chattanooga, Johnson City, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville, TN; or Houston, TX.  Additionally, each recipient will be awarded $10,000 which will be paid prior to the student's third year of law school to help defray the cost of law school tuition and related expenses.

EJW Summer Corps Application Deadline Extended to April 10

Equal Justice Works is extending the deadline for students to submit applications for its 2012 Summer Corps program to 11:59 PDT on Tuesday, April 10.

All required information must submitted by this time.  Incomplete applications will not be considered and there will be no exceptions. See Equal Justice Works for more information.

CPIL and PILA have teamed together for a single application, which is being collecting in Law Career Services until 5 pm on March 12, 2012. Any updates to an application after it is submitted need to be emailed by the applicant to Shaye Loughlin, Director of the Center of Public Interest Law. Applications are available in the Symplicity Document Library

Once DePaul’s iTunes pages opens, scroll down to the “On Campus” section.  There you will find the link for Law Career Services.

Go to the 2012 Programs tab.  The Summer Funding Part 1 and 2 are under this tab.

2012 Reed Smith and McDonald’s Corporation 1L LCLD Summer Program

As members of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)  , Reed Smith, LLP and McDonald’s have collaborated in offering a 1L law student a summer position within their organizations, which will provide a 1L with the opportunity to join Reed Smith’s 2012 Summer Associate Program for four weeks, and to spend four weeks with the McDonald’s Legal Department. Applications are DUE APRIL 6th, 2012.

Georges Fellowship for Conservation: Environmental Law at the Shedd

The Shedd Aquarium, through a grant from the Georges Foundation, is pleased to offer the Georges Fellowship for Conservation, a summer internship opportunity, to a qualified candidate selected through a competitive application process.

The Georges Fellowship includes: an eight-week summer internship with Shedd’s conservation department focusing on environmental policy research, mentoring by a practicing environmental law attorney, and a $5,000 stipend.  For more information, see job posting #15728 in Symplicity.
