Volunteer Opportunities

CBA Moot Court Competition (Volunteers Needed) - November 17-19
The Young Lawyers Section will host its 30th Annual Moot Court Competition on November 17-19, 2011, at the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago. This year we have 32 teams competing from across the country. The YLS needs attorneys to act as competition judges and brief graders. Volunteer brief graders are asked to review and critique approximately 4-5 briefs near the middle of October and volunteer competition judges are needed on the evenings of November 17 and 18 (5:30 or 7:30 p.m.). Competition judges may be eligible to earn Illinois MCLE credit. For more information, contact the CLE Department. To volunteer, contact Jenni Bertolino or 312-554-2031 and indicate your volunteer preference.

Wills for Heroes Event - November 12
The YLS will be hosting a Wills For Heroes Event on Saturday, November 12, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., at Chicago Police Headquarters, 3510 S. Michigan Ave. Volunteer lawyers create free wills, living wills and other estate planning documents for local emergency first responders and their spouses or partners. To volunteer, RSVP to Alexis Bettis by November 4 (include your cell phone number, state if you are a licensed IL attorney, ARDC #, if your practice focuses on estate planning, and if you are a notary).
