OCI: Bidding Deadline THIS FRIDAY

Reminder: OCI BIDS are due THIS FRIDAY, August 10th at NOON CST, for On-Campus Interviews occurring during Sessions 3 and 4 (employers visitng from August 27-September 7, 2012).

All bidding/application materials must be uploaded and submitted to Symplicity by Noon.

Importing your Conflicts into Symplicity for OCI

Entering Conflicts for the Fall 2012 OCI Program

Enter any conflicts for every business day from August 13 through October 12.You must have an entry on each day noted.

Access your conflicts by clicking on the Calendar Tab followed by the Personal Events Sub-Tab.

Enter the start and end times of your conflict.

If the conflict is recurring, please indicate that by selecting the time period (daily, weekly or monthly) from the period reoccurrence drop down bar. Make sure you also enter a numerical value for the number of times you have the recurring event such as 15 for Weekly Conflicts.

You must enter an appointment for days without conflicts as well. This appointment should be titled “no conflicts” and last from 7 am to 7:30 am.

Immediately update any conflict changes in Symplicity. If you have an emergency and cannot attend your scheduled interview, immediately contact Elizabeth Boe, Assistant Director of Recruiting, at eboe@depaul.edu or (312) 362-8386.

8/9 Deadline: City of Chicago Law Clerk Positions

Many of you have checked out the job postings for the Law Clerk positions with the City of Chicago Law Department, posted in Symplicity as Jobs #16906 and #16912.  These applications are due on August 9, 2012 but you are encouraged to apply early so that the system does not overload with last minute applications.  More information is also available on the City's website.

Negotiating a salary can be an uncomfortable process. You want to get what you're worth but you also don't want to offend or scare off your future employer. This situation is only more complicated in a tough job market. When offers are few and job seekers are plenty, you might be tempted to take whatever is offered to you. But, that's rarely the smartest thing to do.
