The CLE Department has recently added to its catalog of complimentary online practice pointers. Watch "Representing an Animal Organization" with Anna E. Morrison-Ricordati or "Representing a Buyer: Types of Deeds" with John P. O'Brien at www.chicagobar.org.

Please join us on Tuesday, September 27 from 4:00-5:30 pm in 340 O'Malley for our first Social Media & Sustenance Open House! Which forms of social media do you use? We'd like to encourage you to use them to promote your job search and professional development activities through our Social Media Check-In Promotion (full details in Symplicity Document Library). Just update your status on any medium or check-in to our office on FourSquare, then show tha check-in to our student worker, and you'll be eligible to enter our monthly drawing for various professional development prizes. You'll receive double check-ins the weeks that we host our monthly Social Media & Sustenance Open Houses, where you can stop by for some fruit and cookies before or after class.

The following is a list of committees that have notified the CBA of their speaker/topic. Meetings are held at 12:15 p.m. for one hour at the CBA unless otherwise noted. Bring your CBA card to obtain MCLE credit for meeting attendance. Lunch is available in our servery for $9.50. There is no need to RSVP for committee meetings. Member may attend any meeting they choose.

Dish Network & Writing Competitions

Are you interested in improving your legal research and writing skills? Consider taking part in a writing competition! We post various writing competitions to the Symplicity calendar and blog, and the ABA Law Student Division also has a list of ABA writing competitions as well. For example, the Dish Network is sponsoring a writing competition on eDiscovery.

3Ls/4Ls/LLMs: Presidential Management Fellows Program

Don't forget that the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program nomination application is now available in the Symplicity Document Library. The USAJOBS vacancy number is 519543: Shaye Loughlin, Director of the Center for Public Interest Law, provided information on the PMF program, processes, and the internal nomination procedures, and the presentation materials can be found here.  Nomination applications are due by NOON on Monday, September 26, 2011. You must be graduating between September 1, 2011 and August 31, 2011 to be eligible.
