Next Week in LCS - 9/9/2011

The latest in Next Week in LCS hot off the presses!

Professional Development Tips: Quality over quantity is a useful rule of thumb in many aspects of the job search including:

  • Networking: connecting to a smaller group that you know well and knows you well, and with whom you will actually keep in touch, makes the connections more meaningful and rewarding.  For all parties concerned.
  • Job Applications: tailor your materials for each posting with information specific to that employer, posting, and any connections will help you stand out. Sending out generic cover letters, resumes, and inquiry requests will generally land your materials in the trash.
