The CBA recently recognized several legal professionals for their outstanding efforts on behalf of women and minority attorneys in our legal community. On November 4, 2011, at the Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges Conference, "Profiles in Diversity" awards were presented to the Hon. Leonard Murray of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Azam Nizamuddin of the Law Office of Azam Nizamuddin P.C., Z. Scott of Kaye Scholer LLP, and Ted Yi of Quarles & Brady LLP. YLS Children's Book Drive Drop Off Through December 9
Donate new and gently used children's books to the Young Lawyers Section's Annual Children's Book Drive. Books will be provided to local homeless shelters, the children's waiting room at the Daley Center, the Carole Robertson Center for Learning, the Cook County Juvenile Justice Center, and the William C. Goudy Elementary School. Collect books at your firm and drop them off in the CBA Lobby, 321 S. Plymouth Ct., through December 9.

2011 Supreme Court of Illinois Reception and Dinner - December 9
The CBA and the Illinois State Bar Association will honor the Justices of the Illinois Supreme Court at the 2011 Supreme Court of Illinois Reception and Dinner on Friday, December 9, 2011. The event will feature a 6:00 p.m. reception followed by a 7:00 p.m. dinner at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers, 301 E. North Water Street, Chicago. The Honorable Mary Jane Theis from the First District will be the featured speaker at this year's event. Black tie optional. Tickets $125 per person.
