Free committee meetings and expert speakers are one of our strongest and most unique membership benefits. Your guest(s) will receive free Illinois MCLE credit (if applicable) and the opportunity to meet and network with members of your committee. See a list of upcoming meetings. Vote for Qualified Judges on November 6
Candidates appearing on the judicial ballot in Cook County have been evaluated by the CBA's Judicial Evaluation Committee. The Green Guide offers in-depth explanation of the process and the rationale for each evaluation. The separate Pocket Guide can be printed out and carried into the voting booth for easy reference when you vote. Get both documents, plus a mobile guide, at www.chicagobar.org/JEC. Be sure to share the findings with your colleagues, friends, and family.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Opening in Western Division
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois is accepting applications for a full-time magistrate judge position in the Western Division (Rockford). Get details and application at http://www.ilnd.uscourts.gov/home/_assets/_documents/mjdocs-12/default.aspx.

Cell Phone Drive at CBA
Honor Domestic Violence Awareness Month by donating used wireless phones, batteries, and accessories by Friday, October 12 in the CBA lobby. For each phone collected, Verizon will give $10 to the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence to support free Virtual Legal Clinic consultations. Phone memories will be deleted.

2012 Hon. Mary Ann McMorrow Service to the Profession Award Ceremony on October 25
CBA members have been invited to attend the 2012 Hon. Mary Ann McMorrow Service to the Profession Award Ceremony that is being hosted by the Chicago Alumni Chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Hon. William H. Hooks and Michele M. Jochner will be honored. See details in PDF flyer.

Alliance for Women Celebrates 20 Years of Service and Brings the Bar None Exhibit Home to the CBA Through October 12
The AFW is celebrating its 20th year of supporting and promoting women lawyers in Chicago. As part of the celebration, members can view the original Bar None: 125 Year of Women Lawyers in Illinois traveling exhibit on the 1st floor of Association Headquarters through October 12.
