WE HAVE MOVED! Come visit us in 340 O'Malley, which is on the north side of the building, on the Jackson side. Keep your eyes open for an Open House invitation coming soon!
Resume Collects: if you are interested in participating in the Resume Collects for employers who are interested in DePaul students but not coming on campus through the FERP process, please don't forget that those have moved to the Symplicity Job Postings. You can find these opportunities quickly by searching for Resume Collect under Position Type in the Advanced Search options under Job Postings. Please see the FERP FAQ's in the Symplicity Announcements for additional information. Some employers have July 31 deadlines so don't miss out on these opportunities! To participate, all you need is an approved resume. NOTE: There are many deadlines throughout the semester so calendar them now and check frequently for new participating employers.
3Ls/4Ls: Did you know that most federal agencies do not hire new law graduates directly, but through their Honors Programs? While the Department of Justice has the largest progam (nearly 200 new graduates are hired annually), many federal agencies create specialized programs for the cadre of new graduate attorneys, and these deadlines begin as early as September. To learn more, check out the Honors & Internship Handbook (password links are in the Symplicity Announcements) and Government Job Search Guide (in the Symplicity Document Library) so you can begin to plan for these application deadlines. The US Department of Justice has announced that their applications will be open July 25-September 6, 2011. You are encouraged to an appointment with Associate Director Alisa Rosales to develop your game plan.
FERP Update! **New EARLIER Deadlines** The Major changes to the FERP process are detailed in the FERP Announcements in Symplicity, with a new FAQ supplementing that document and the FERP Orientation Video:

FERP Update! **New EARLIER Deadlines** The Major changes to the FERP process are detailed in the FERP Announcements in Symplicity, with a new FAQ supplementing that document and the FERP Orientation Video:
- All of the registration and bidding procedures can now be completed online. This eliminates the need to fax or bring in materials to our office.
- Due to the fact that we are adding employers all the time, you MUST enter conflicts for the ENTIRE FERP period, and are expected to keep that updated as your schedule changes. You will not be able to bid on employers until you have successfully completed the Registration process.
- The Registration process is now separate from the Bidding process, and each has its own deadline. You are expected to keep a copy of all of your bids and the materials that you submit for each employer.
- Many of the other procedures and deadlines, such as having your resume approved, attending FERP Orientation (or watching the video and completing the quiz), remain the same, and more information about those and any other requirements are included in the FERP Announcements in Symplicity.
- Though the bidding for Phases I & II have passed, you can still register for and bid for employers coming on campus in Phases III & IV. Those deadlines are:
- Wednesday, August 17: Registration for Phase III
- Friday, August 19: Bids due at NOON (local to DePaul)
- Wednesday, August 31: Registration AND Bids due at NOON (local to DePaul) for Phase IV (This is the ONLY Phase for which registration and bids are combined.)
- If subsequent Phases are needed, we will inform everyone who has registered for FERP directly, as well as post that information to the Symplicity Announcements, the blog, twitter, and this newsletter.
